Thinking of you - Inspiration Destination #137

Wednesday November 1-14, 2017

Wow it's November already.. It's been a year today since I have been home and retired.. It's been an awesome great year.. I am so glad to be retired and being able to be home with my hubby and four legged kids.. Awesome year.

So today it's time for another challenge at
Inspiration Destination #137 - ANYTHING GOES

This is the card I made. I took my Ken Oliver powder paints  and sprinkled it on water color paper spritzed on the water and used a brush to move it around and spritzed with more water and kept working it till I got what I liked.  Still not sure I like so then plan "B".. I die cut the white paper from Lil Inker die. I cut it twice to layer it.. I laid it over the water color piece and then laid it on to the card base. I used Stampin Up flower stamp and dies to create the flower. The leaves are from a box of leaves I die/punched a long time ago.. I layered them on some Gold cording from Stampin Up. I used My Favorite Things stitch oval and die cut the sentiment which is from Simon Says. The ink is Stampin Up Fig.. I added some Nuvo drops. It's done and I do like the background now.. LOL

Happy Thanksgiving - Pause Dream Enjoy #197

Wednesday November 1, 2017

Woo Hoo November is here.. I hope your are having a great day. I like November.. It's my birth month, my sons and thanksgiving..

Welcome to another challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy #197
the Orange team has a great theme for you  THANKSGIVING

Here I go with another OLD wood block wooden stamp. Stampalicious is the image stamp and the sentiment I don't know who it's by. It was one I mounted on a wood block.  I kinda cried when I found this in the box. The stamp block is chewed up. My little Ginger / Lakeland terrier who passed away 4 yrs. ago chewed on it.. I miss her so much. She was a real sweetheart.
Any how I stamped the images and then using Zig markers and colored it. I added some Nuvo drops and called it done.

Thank you - Craftaholics R Us-43

Wednesday November 1, 2017

Well as of today.. I have been retired one year.. I have loved all 365 days of it and looking forward to many many more years..

It's time for another challenge at Craftaholics R Us #43
and the Green team has chosen
 THANK YOU as the theme.

This was fun to create.. I took some dark navy blue card stock 4.25 x 5.5 and using a Paper Trey Ink stamp I stamped the border over the blue paper.. with it being so hard to see using Versa Mark (the other side is really bad. I tried to butt them next to each other) I left a gap and figured I would fix it somehow when I was done.. I then used silver embossing powder from Stampin Up and heat embossed. Well that blue gap didn't look very good so I took my Kuretake White Gold paint and painted the strip between the stamp design. I liked it. I then stamped on Vellum the Thank you from PTI and heat embossed with Black from stampin up.. I added some half pearls and added the completed card from to a white card base. This is really pretty in real life.  I hope I have inspired you to grab a thank you, thanks a bunch, so thankful for you.. I know there are more sentiments that will work.. Just have fun and play along.

This is the side view showing the design and the painted strip between the stamped design.

The road to a friends house - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday November 1, 2017

How time flies.. it's been one year today since I have been retired. It's been an awesome year. Looking forward to another wonderful year.

Today we have another challenge at
 A color challenge.

This is the color challenge
I found this designer paper from My Minds Eye and it was perfect for the colors. I used the stamp set from Taylored Expressions for the houses and sentiment and the trees are a Simon Says die. I used a piece of gray from the MME and stamped some circles in white but by the time it dried it was faint so I used a glitter pen and filled in the circles. In person it looks like a night sky which was my attempt. I die cut the flower looking paper with the same circle as the gray and then cut a wave line and used them for the rolling hills for the houses. The houses are colored with copics. The label die is from Stampin up.

Give thanks - Bugaboo New Release

Tuesday October 31, 2017

Happy Halloween.. Living out in the country we never get trick or treaters.. and I think most people have Halloween parties at churches or homes.. I don't think many go out anymore. I'm sure it's safer all the way around. I do miss seeing the cute costumes the kids wear.
Well Bugaboo is back with a new release and you can see the design teams creations over at Catch the bug.

This is "Give Thanks".. I like that it can be for Thanksgiving or any give thanks day.  I colored the image with colored pencils and then when it was done I was looking for the perfect paper and found this awesome plaid. I love how it pretty much picked up the colors I used. I added some twine and a few left over Simon Says stitched leaves that were colored with Oxide ink (from a past project).

Bible journaling - Revelation 5:5

Monday October 30, 2017

This is another bible journaling page I did. Kate, Vicky and I get together twice a month. Kate had this photo she found I think from Pinterest of a lion face. Well I loved it so we all did our own lion. I traced the nose and eyes but the rest I did on my own. I love how it came out and how it just came to life. I used Prisma colored pencils. For the white I used paint as the white pencils didn't give me the look I wanted. once he white paint was on it was to stark so I took a gray pencil and went over the white to tone it down.
Revelations 5:5 But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, "stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David's throne, "has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and it's seven seals".

Bible journaling - Psalm 147:4 He telleth the number of stars; he calleth them all by their names

Sunday October 29, 2017

This is another bible journaling page I did with my friends. This is from Psalm 147:4 We decided to do the northern lights as the background and started with doing the ground and then used Stampin up ink to get the night sky. Then the trees were added and white gel pen for the stars. In the photo it looks hazy but in real time its nice.

Bible Journaling Luke 1:45 - Blessed is she who has believed

Thursday October 26, 2017

I have another Bible journaling page to share. Again I found the image on Pinterest and I traced it onto my bible page Luke 1:45. I used washi tape to tape off the verse and went over the page with Ranger ink to so that when the tape is removed the verse would be highlighted. I colored the image with Prisma color pencils and then went over the image with a fine tip sharpie.. I really love doing bible journaling and reading the scriptures.

smile - it's your birthday - Sunny Day Crafting #58

Wednesday October 25, 2017

Welcome to another fun challenge at Sunny Day Crafting #58
The challenge that the Yellow team is brining you is
Q - is for QUICK AND EASY

My card was inspired by a card I saw Nichol Spohr do last month.. I thought this would be perfect for the QUICK and EASY challenge.

I used My Favorite Things stamps and Stampin Up inks.  I stamped the swish mark in the darkest color first and center and then went with the next colors rotating the stamp right side up and up side down.. Not that it really has an top or bottom end. but you know what I mean.. I used the Misti as it made it easier and I had to stamp a few of the colors two or three times.  I then stamped the sentiment in black.. Love the rich black against the greens. I finished with some flat sequins.. I am thinking this would make an awesome masculine card..
Please check out the DT's inspirations over at Sunny Day Crafting challenge.

Digging through my dresser drawer in my craftroom closet I found this cute Christmas stamp.. I stamped the image from Co-motion stamps on Kraft card stock. I used colored pencils and blending solution (it's old.. it's not gamsol but something like it) Boy using the blending solution it really brightened up the color pencils on the kraft.. I added Ranger ink around the edge and the sentiment is from Simon Says. I added some Nuvo drops clear on the Christmas lights and Spectrum Noir to the light glow.  I hope you are inspired to make a Christmas card or two. Keep shinning bright - Paper Play Sketches #54

Wednesday October 25, 2017

So here we are at Paper Play Sketches
#54 with a new challenge and a sketch

So here is the sketch to follow.. If you need inspiration check out the DT cards

This is my card.  I started with a white piece of card stock and used my Ranger Oxide inks and went over the piece and spritzed with water and dried till I got a night sky that was ok.. (I need black Oxide ink ; (   I then took my white gold Kuretake paint and spattered the background and everything else in the way..
I remembered I had this awesome moon stamp and I cant remember the company name. I keep thinking Kevin??? I used two Oxide inks and stamped the image then used a My Favorite Things circle die and cut it out. I added Versa Mark ink and clear embossing powder to the moon.  I took my Lawn Fawn grass die and Taylored Expressions fence die and created the scene. I think I should of cut the grass a little narrower so it fit the sketch better.  I then stamped the two MFT images and colored with Zig markers. I added tiny stars sequins to the night sky.. I added the sentiment from Simons Says.  This card is done. It was so much fun to create.

Bible journaling - Mark 5:11-13 Swines

Monday October 23, 2017

Here is another bible journaling page I did with my friends and this was really a fun one to do.
It's about the scripture Mark 5: 11-13 . I loved reading about sending the swine's into the sea.
I traced most of the image and colored with Prisma color pencils. I used a stamp for the hill dot texture. It's a perfect stamp for added texture. I used blue stampin up ink for the sky and some water.
