Aud Sentiment challenge #86- Sassy Studio - "Let's Get Flirty"

August 1, 2013

Aud Sentiments  with another wonderful challenge running from Aug 1-13.. and sponsored by
The challenge is

"Let's Get Flirty"

I chose to use the image Dorothy Sassy.. She's a little flirty waitress.. or maybe she's just playing at being a waitress.. know what I mean.. wink wink---   I loved coloring her up and putting blue highlights in her hair. I thought she should hold a little stick pin heart. The sentiment below her is from club scrap, the one above her I just printed out on my label maker. She needed to be "FLIRTY" for the challenge.  DONT FORGET THE SENTIMENT TO GO WITH GETTING FLIRTY.. your card must include a flirty sentiment on it.

Catch the bug - Poinesettia bear

July 30, 2013

Can you believe the end of July is just around the corner.. We at Catch the bug have been very very busy with the Christmas in July week and all of the other challenges in-between so we are taking a little break from Aug 1st -15th.. So no new releases or free Fridays. I hope you will still visit my blog as I still have other cards I will be posting.

Today Catch the bug has a new release POINSETTIA BEAR.. He looks like its suspicious of something.. Love the guilty look or you caught me look. (remember if the image has not been posted by 7a.m. on the CTB site, please check back later in the day as sometime life gets busy and we are just a little late on posting. The image will be posted for you to enjoy)

I used my little boxes of left over items (that I mentioned in a posting below) to make my card. I am loving these organized sorted colors because I did not have to cut anything. All of these die cuts were in my stash containers. I just may have to die cut some more things to re fill the boxes, but believe me I have enough in each to last awhile. I just love the convenience.

Catch the bug Free Friday / Snowman Star

Friday July 26, 2013

Catch the bug Free Friday -Lil SNOWMAN STAR   (please note bugaboo makes every attempt to have our new images and freebies posted by 7a.m. - however sometimes life gets in the way so please check back later if the new freebie has not been posted.)
Boy at this rate from last weeks CIJ and this weeks new release and free Friday I am getting my Christmas cards made.
Way to go and I love it.
Here is Lil Snowman star a darling little guy for this Friday's free Friday. I took all my scraps and bought some photo containers and sorted all my scraps - my die cuts, punches, all those pieces that did not work for what ever project I was working on and did not want to throw away, and were just thrown in a box.. Well I put all the blues in one container, green in another and so on an so forth with the other colors. I then took out my blue container and used only those pieces in that container. I tried to add some other colors but was liking the all blue look with a little green copics in there. I love being organized and this was a great time saver and fun to see pieces from long ago.

Unscripted Sketch #220 - happy birthday

Saturday July 20, 2013

Unscripted Sketch #220 -  To play along just follow the sketch and link to the US site. You can turn the sketch, make a card, scrapbook page, framed project. Just have fun

This is the card I made using the sketch. I decided to use my washi tape for the left side of the card, and then a punch strip to give it a different look than just straight tape I added dots of glossy accents to give it some dimension.  The background behind the cupcake was stamped with the Simon Says stamp set that came in the SimonSays monthly kit. I had a piece of dp scrap ring and so put the twine through the whole, cut out the yellow circle which is a stamp in the kit and then layered the cupcake on top. Which is also part of the stamp set.. All inks are Quick Quote inks. This was a fun stamp set I used a lot of the stamps from the set. Also did glossy accents on the cherry and the heart.. (I had a finger smug on the cupcake wrap so hence the heart to cover it)

Paper Shelter #121 - C&S

The Squirrel and the Fox #48 - use something on a spool

Catch the bug - Tag You're It - use a tag

Thursday July 18, 2013

We are winding down on our week long Christmas in July at Catch The Bug I hope you all have been having a fun time and playing along. I've seen some awesome cards submitted for the daily challenges. There is still time to get your cards in, so enter. Lots of fun prizes to win.
We have another challenge today it's TAG YOU'RE IT - USE A TAG

I used AKV Santa for my image and made a tag.. I thought of a tag used on a card but my mind did not want to work so I kept it simple.
I used ranger inks and smeared them on my plastic sheet and spritzed with water and laid the tag in the ink mix to get the card background. I wanted a tree on the card so found some dcwv paper that had that tree look and used my pti tree die and added it to the tag. It kind of blends in too much in the photo but in real life it stands out more. I fussy cut out the image and adhered to the tag. Got some of my favorite ribbons/yarns out and added them to the tag. little stickle and bling and done..

challenges:
Party Playtime #14  - tag
Make it Monday #149 - anything goes
Divas By Design - tag
The Squirrel and the Fox #48 - use something on a spool
Creative Belli Blog # 174 - Christmas

Aud Sentiment #85 Sympathy or Thinking of you / Robyns Fetish

Thursday July 18, 2013

Welcome to another two week challenge at Aud Sentiments.
This is challenge #85 and is
sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.
The theme is SYMPATHY / THINKING OF YOU

Our great sponsor has some awesome images and it was a lot of fun working with their digi.
I hope you get time to play along. It does run for two weeks
July 18th -30th so I hope that it gives you time to create.
Just remember to make it a SYMPATHY / THINKING OF YOU theme card, and remember the limit is 5 cards.

I chose to use the pretty flowers digi for my image from Robyn's Fetish. I played around with the die by cutting it in half across the center and layer it behind the yellow. I love this look. I needed the black behind it to make it pop and I did not have a larger size die so I had to make it work ...because this girl was not going to try to hand cut a larger black size.. I also love the touch of purple on those lovely pretty flowers. These are some of my favorite colors. I used vellum for the sentiment. It's embossed in some sparkle black embossing powder. I also used some ink watered down and splattered on the background to tie it together.

Challenges:
Kaboodle Doodle #180 - any embossed work
Make It Monday #149 - anything goes

I chose to use the Tea Rose digi (sorry couldn't find it in the store :(  to link it,  I thought if I colored it similar to the background paper I chose, that the sentiment would stand out.. so it would fit the challenge of "sentiment as the focal point"

I don't use kraft enough. I love the look and the grounding that kraft seems to bring. I chose some of my favorite papers ..Basic Grey I love their paper pads and they seem to be a go to pad. Don't get me wrong I have MME, Cosmo and lots of others.. I am a hoarder..collector of papers.

Saturday July 13, 2013

Unscripted Sketches #219 challenge. This sketch can be done so many ways so I hope this sketch gets you excited to make a card, scrapbook page or some paper craft project to play along.

This is my card and how I decided to use the sketch. I have these acrylic doilies and I love them but feel they are too bold to stand alone so I used it under the dp and sentiment. Plus it helped to cover up the adhesive to adhere the acrylic piece. Had to use my SU punch to make flowers ( I love that punch) and sequins.. I love the way it turned out. Hope you play along and post to Unscripted Sketches.

Great little birthday card for that wee little 5 yr. old.
I thought after I got this posted that I should of stamped Happy Birthday on the front but then again the #5 and party hat kind of speaks for it's self..
I did the water color pencils technique to make the background. Placed a piece of paper behind the image circle and then thought it was too plain so added some variegated ribbon strips behind it. Hope you like the free image and head over to the store and pick it up. Free, you cant beat that.
